Everyday there are thousands of credit cards being lost
or stolen. They offer a lucrative opportunity for theives
and are very small making them easy to lose. There has been
a blossoming industry in credit card insurance against fraud
and this can offer protection if the worst does happen.
But there are a few logic steps that can help minimize any
loss.
Many
people have a handfull of credit cards and this can increase
the problem greatly. If you carry all your cards at once
you are taking a big risk. A good idea is to to keep one
card for everyday use and only take this card with know
you unless you percifically need another card. If you do
happen to lose your cards and they are all together you
will have a lot more hassle.
The
normal practice is to keep your card in your wallet along
with your driving license and other ID. This can make it
easier for people to use your card and steal your ID should
you lose that "one" wallet. You should be carefull
about keeping all that information in one place but be carefull
not to lose track of what you keep where.
You
may find you don't need to keep your driving licence in
your wallet. An inside pocket may do just as well and this
keeps 2 important private objects seperate. You should also
be carfull about keeping your address in the same place
as you credit cards. Having your address can help credit
card fraudsters a great deal if they also have your card,
it could act as a good ID for them and help them get into
your account
